- תַּרְדֵּמָהf. (b. h.; רָדַם) torpor, trance. Pirké dR. El. ch. XXVIII שנת ת׳ a trance-like sleep. Gen. R. s. 17, a. e. תַּרְדֵּמַת שינה the torpor of sleep; ת׳ נבואה the trance of prophecy; ת׳ מרמיטה, v. מרמיטה. Ib. ת׳ שטות the torpor of madness.Pl. תַּרְדֵּמוֹת, Ib. שלש ת׳ הן there are three kinds of torpor.
